We were honoured to be able to chat to one of the most talented composers of the entire Tomb Raider series as Peter Connelly agreed to answer a few questions from the fans in this exclusive interview.

Peter was first introduced to the Tomb Raider series when he collaborated with Nathan McCree, Martin Iveson and Matthew

Kemp on the soundtrack for Lara's third adventure - Tomb Raider III The Adventures of Lara Croft. He then took the driving seat as the composer of the music for both Tomb Raider The Last Revelation and Tomb Raider Chronicles, finishing up with an amazing collaboration for The Angel of Darkness with Martin Iveson. Here's what he had to say...

PL: How did you first get into Video Game composing?

Peter: Music has been my passion from as far back as I can remember and I have always been an avid fan of video games. When I got my first home computer, a Commodore 64, I was fascinated at how good it sounded and then realised this was something I wanted to do... Write music for games.

PL: Which game did you enjoy working on most, and for what reasons?

Peter: Tomb Raider - Angel of Darkness was the most exciting project to
work on, for many reasons, but primarily because of having the honour to work with the LSO at Abbey Road Studios. That was such an overwhelming experience.

PL: Who or what were you inspired by when creating the music for the Tomb Raider series?

Peter: Nathan McCree was my main inspiration as he did such a beautiful job on the first three instalments. Other influences and inspirations are John Williams, Danny Elfman and Hans Zimmer.

PL: How did you approach the composition of the music for the Tomb Raider games

Peter: We have drafts of the storyline and usually some design sketches, but my main ideas came from early builds of the levels where I would roam around and get a feel for what it was about.

PL: Which piece of music for the series do you feel is your own masterpiece, or are most pleased with?

Peter: My personal preference is the theme to Angel of Darkness. The emotion of the music was beautifully translated by the conductor and the orchestra.
